Aaron Johnson

  1. Andrew Garfield, The Amazing Spider-Man, 2010.
  2. Nicholas Hoult, Jack The Giant Killer, 2012.     After his titular Kick-Ass and young John Lennon in Nowhere Boy, Johnson, was director Bryan Singer's favourite Jack... until he ran into the now 6’ 3” kid from About A Boy.   He joined Singer’s production of    X-Men: First Class, 2010. (Singer  used the X-Men casting to ferret out potential Jacks).  Johnson went on into  Oliver Stone’s Savages. And Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina, aka Keira Knightley.
  3. James D’Arcy, Hitchcock, 2012.   Hitchcock’s back in business!  With two films headlinedby UK actors (Anthony Hopkins, Toby Jones) in bad impressions and fat suits. This is the sec on done: Hopkins directing Psycho. And telling Janet Leigh: “You can call me Hitch. Hold the cock.”   Hitch didn’t look (or sound) like Hitch (idem for e those playing Janet Leigh and Vera Miles) but s,young D’Arcy was an uncanny Anthony Perkins.  Rivals for the role had included Johnson, Bemn Barnes, Tom Felton, Andrew Garfield, Ryan Merriman, Jackson Rathbone - and Jack Huston, whose Uncle Danny was already in the cast.
