  1. Linara Washington, Killing Them Softly, 2011.    As the sole woman in the testosterone-packed film noir: a hooker insulted by The Master. James Gandolfini.
  2. Rosario Dawson, Trance, 2012.       Director Danny Boyle also saw Eva Green, Scarlett Johansson and Melanie Thierry. But would they have agreed to Rosario’s bolder-than-Sharon Stone genitalia exposure?  Shooting filled a gap in Boyle’s two-year schedule for his stunning opening/closing ceremonies  of London’s 2012 Olympics - and edited after the event.
  3. Rose Byrne, This Is Where I Leave You, 2013.     Like directors, the actresses kept changing. Only Kathryn Hahn survived the shuffling… to  discover if  there’s anything worse than your father dying, it’s going home for the funeral  - a whole week with  an over-sharing mother, siblings, spouses, exes and other  assorted wannabes.
  4. Emayatzy Corineald, Miles Ahead, 2015.   I'd call it Milestones… as we careen through various chapters of the jazz icon's turbulent existence. With a change of his  beloved lady, Frances Taylor.  Directing as well as playing Miles, Don Chealde said this was his dream project come true. He did not let us down. Nor Miles.
