Frank Sully (1908-1975)

  1. Matt McHugh, Miracles For Sale, 1938.       With his jaw, Sully could have been Dick Tracy. Looking a cross between Leo Gorcey and Quentin Tarantino, Sully scored 308 screen roles between 1933-1968, sometimes up to ten a year. From playing himself - Mr. Sully, Student Actor - in his 1933 debut, 365 Nights in Hollywood, to Noah Joad in The Grapes of Wrath to the Blondie, Boston Blackie, Joe Palooka and Three Stooges franchises and 50s’ shorts with such delightful titles as Spies and Guys, A Fool and his Honey and The Gink at the Sink.
