- Pat O'Brien, Boy Meets Girl, 1938. A perfect notion from Warners - Olsen & Johnson, Broadway's comedy stars playing songwriters making a star of Marion Davies. The lunatic duo, however, was tied up on-stage. A quick re-write made it the fifth James Cagney-Pat O'Brien movie - playing screenwriters with Marie Wilson (Marion having passed) as the waitress with star potential. Olsen & Johnson made seven farces, including their classic version of their Broadway triumph, Hellzapoppin', in 1941.
