The lite title for the famous stripper’s novel, G-String Murders, after censors forbade it - and queried the use of “this extremely intimate female garment” as a murder weapon. Lee didn’t care. She got $25,000 from producer David O Selznick - and a test for the lead. And lost to Stanwyck. As Dixie Daisy, alias Gypsy, herself.
