- Waltraut Haas, The Story of William Tell, UK-Italy, 1953. Errol Flynn Productions chose the Italian Silenti (61 screen roles during 1941-1994) for the boss’ leading lady - until meeting the blonde Austrian Haas, (75 screen roles during 1946-2017). Flynn lost most of his money, $500,000, on this ”comeback,” after being KOed with hepatitis and liver failure. Only 30 minutes was shot before the production closed down and co-star Bruce Cabot, allegedly, had all of the Flynn family’s property seized, in lieu of his salary.
