Stuart Damon, Cinderella, TV, 1964.     At the witching hour, the singer son of singer Allen Jones  was was replaced as the prince  by Damon, already Broadway bound in  Richard Rodgers’  Do I Hear a Waltz.Lesley Ann Warren was Cinders, Walter Pidgeon and Ginger Rogers, the king and queen, and Celeste Holm the fairy godmother. And I’d never heard of it until today: October 5, 2018.

One suit pointed out that George was no singing terpsichorean, another suggested using the kids.  Whose?  Judy Garland’s daughter, Liza Minnelli, 19, and a Mickey Rooney son. Which one? Any one! Three were available: Teddy, 15; Mickey Jnr, 19; Tim, 20. Producer Sam Katzman preferred crooner Jack Jones. And his tour opened the door t for Presnell, the current Camelot stage star.
