- Michel Piccoli, Passion, France-Switzerland, 1981. For his second (non) comeback , the bilious Jean-Luc Godard selected the tall Swiss actor and then off-loaded him during the months of prepping. Piccoli came aboard and the boss was re-named Michel, instead of Jean-Luc, as this was one of those films where every actor’s role was named after the actor. It’s what’s called sheer bloody laziness on the part of the scenarist. Godard, bien sur.
