  1. Deborah Kerr, Quo Vadis, 1950.   Took Hollywood 26 years to film Henryk Sienkiewicz’s 1895 epic novel about ancient Rome. MGM won the rights in 1925. And planned to shoot in 1935.  Seven years later,  Margarita was chosen as Lygia. In 1943, she eventually made her first and last MGMovie, Song of Russia, starring Robert Taylor, the eventual ancient Rome hero in 1950.
