- Haley Joel Osment, The Sixth Sense, 1999. This was Cera’s first movie audition. He lost, Liam Aiken passed. Osment won Cole Sear because when director M Night Shyamalan asked if he’d read his part, the 11-year-old said, yeah, three times. “Wow, you read your part three times? ” “No, I read the script three times.”
- Sean Flynn, The Snobs, TV, 2003. David Isaacs and Ken Levine wanted Cera – but the Gore role proved to be in like Flynn – grandson of the great Errol Flynn, son of his daughter Rory, and nephew of the first Sean Flynn, a photo-journalist missing since he was 28 to this day – in Cambodia at age 28 in 1970 and declared legally dead in 1984. Other credits for this Sean (born 1989) include The Last of Robin Hood, 2013, starring Kevin Kline (terrific!) as his grandfather.
- Eric Price, Alpha and Omega, 2009. Change of voice for Paddy, a yellow duck, caught up in the tale of the titular ler, Blue Lagoon-like wolves in what USA Today critic Scott Bowles called “one of those rarities in the modern era of Hollywood animation – bad.”
- Andrew Garfield, The Amazing Spider-Man, 2010.
- Dan Fogler, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, 2015. Cera, Josh Gad, Zack Pearlman and Steve Zissis were knocked out of the new JK Rowling park by Brooklynite Fogler – as as Jacob Kowalski, a No-Maj cannery worker and baker wannabe who accidentally enters the 1926 New York’s magic community after accidentally swopping suitcases with Rowling’s new hero: Eddie Redmayne as wizard-magizoologist Newton Artemis Fido ‘Newt’ Scamander… in the first of a trilogy (in five parts… and 54 years before Harry Potter was born. Newt and Jacob resemble Laurel and Hardy. Cera actually prefered voicing Robin in The Lego Batman!
