Brad Davis

  1. Harry Hamlin, King of the Mountain, 1981.  An early flop from future Columbia chiefs Jon Peters and Peter Guber.  Davis was deep-sixed due to his drug problems in the tame saga of battling brothers (Hamlin and Joseph Bottoms) who drives races around Mulholland Drive.  An admitted heroin addict, Davis died of AIDS. Dennis Hopper chose this movie instead of Alex Cox’s Repo Man, 1983 – maybe because his washed-up mountain racer was called Cal, same as his mate James Dean in East of Eden.
  2. Sylvester Stallone, First Blood  (aka  Rambo), 1981.
