- John Payne, The Razor’s Edge, 1946. This time, Darryl Zanuck suggested Langan as Gray Maturin – Gene Tierney’s husband. However, director Edmund Goulding voted Payne. Bad choice.
- Victor Mature, Samson and Delilah, 1949. Remained a B-player, best remembered as the Amazing Colossal Man, 1957, and his 42-year marriage to Adele Jergens. Director CB De Mille also looked Rory Calhoun, Jim Davis, Errol Flynn, William Hopper (Hedda’s son), John Ireland, Burt Lancaster, Glen Langan, Willard Parker, Steve Reeves, Roberts Ryan and Taylor, Murvyn Vye, Jeff York and even the newest evangelist in town, Dr Billy Graham.
