- Amrita Singh, Mard, India, 1985. The new Bollywoodian find from Betaab, 1983, won Amitabh Bachchan as a co-star when Dimple requested too many rupees. Amrita (ex-wife of the younger star, Saif Ali Khan) made 50 more films by 2007.
- Meenakshi Sheshadri, Shahenshah, India, 1988. Dimple said No to Shalu. Of course, she did. The role wasn’t even credited.
- Moon Moon Sen, Seeta Salma Suzy, India. 1991. The Kapadia sisters Dimple and Reem – plus Salma Agha Change were chosen for the female retread of Masala King Manmohan Desai’s celebrated 1977 heroes: Amar Akbar Anthony. However, Sen, Sudha Chandran and Archana Puran Singh made the movie. Their Hindi version was never released, only the Bengali dub – retitled Lakhi Durga Saraswati.

Shekhar Kapur. New helmer Kundan Shah dumbed – and younged – the whole mess down for Mahima, Arjun Rampal, Jimmy Shergill, Rekha and a beastly Govind Namdeo.
