Yvonne Craig, Batman, TV, 1966-1968. Batman was losing ground to Lost In Space. Something new was needed. Or, someone. Enter: Batgirl in a seven-minute short to test the waters. Not Batwoman’s sidekick, Betty Kane but Commissioner Gordon’s librarian daughter, Barbara. Mobley quit to join a double-barrelled episode of Mission: Impossible and passed her cape to Yvonne. She was fine. Just didn’t save the show. In her final two TV guest shots, in 1999 and 2003, MAB played… MAB.
Stefanie Powers, Girl From UNCLE, 1966-1967. She was also the original UNCLE babe in the 1966 pilot – replaced by Stefanie in the 29 episode single season series. The role was Cookie Fortune until 007 creator Ian Fleming suggested April Dancer – while consulting on the more successful Man From UNCLE, TV, 1964-1968. (Napoleon Solo had been his original name for Auric Goldfinger).

Game over! Recently, we’ve seen Marlon Brando leading Jack Nicholson by one or two movies he chose not to make – and then, almost immediately, vice-versa. The gap is much wider now. We’ve found two more titles for Jack – Wall Street, Scent of a Woman - and just one extra for Marlon (The Killer Inside Me). Result: Jack now tops the league with 179 films compared to Brando’s 173. A BOND MISS

It’s more doubtful that the next Bond will be Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Not because his name is longer than any 007 title. But from August (and instead of Adam Driver, Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeve or John David Washington,) he has his own Marvel to nuture,. Kraven the Hunter – fifth film in the Spideyverse. (Aaron was an Amazing Spider-Man contender in 2010). He’s also into the WWII bomb heist, Fuze, and joins M-that-was, Ralph Fiennes, in the 28 Years Later chapter from Danny Boyle – who, of course, directed Daniel Craig and his ultimate Bond Girl, The Queen, for the 2012 London Olympics.
