- Elisabeth Sladen, Doctor Who # 70: The Time Warrior, TV, 1973. Having been Lakis in #64: The Time Monster, 1972, the exquisite Penhaligon topped producer Barry Letts’ list for Doc3 Jon Pertwee’s (and later Doc4 Tom Baker’s) travelling rug, Sarah Jane Smith. Sladen matched Nicholas Courtneys record of appearing with seven different Doctors (from Doc3 Jon Pertwee to Doc11 Matt Smith) as the intrepid journalist which became The Role of her life. Whether in episodes, sequels, serials, specials, spin-offs, CDs or radio, Sladen was still playing SJS when she died in 2011.
