- Beverly Longhurst, Shooting Clerks, UK-US-Canada, 2014. For his tribute, a (fictional) making of Kevin Smith’s iconic Clerks, Scottish director Christopher Downie wrote in Smith’s parents, Don and Grace Smith, for Brian O’Halloran and Ghigliotti – aka Dante and Veronica in the 1993 comedy. This time, the screen actors unions banned them, apparently, because, they were among the 19 producers. Towards the end of the Scottish shoot, they were allowed in for two other roles: Ellis and Ali. But the joke had gone – Kevin’s folks were the Clerks couple arguing about her 37 blowjobs!
