Alfred Drake

  1. Howard Keel, Kiss Me Kate, 1952.    London producer Alexander Korda tried to win the  rights so  the Broadway star could reprise his role of Fred Graham. MGM won  the battle and, as per usual, avoided the stage star for the musical inspired by the rows between the venerated Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontaine during their 1935 Taming of the Shrew in New York.
