- John Philliber, Gentle Annie, 1944. Starting in October 1942, shooting was shuttered after four weeks when director Woody Van Dyke fell ill. Two years on, with Andrew Marton helming, the original cast was gone. In his eighth and last movie, Philliber took over Barrow – from the old codger specialist…who was Dorothy’s Uncle Henry in The Wizard of Oz, 1938.
