After Tim McIntyre in the first ABC pilot, Justice For All, 1968, Chip was racist Archie Bunker’s son-in-law in the second, Those Were The Days, 1969 – the sole acting gig for the Oakland Raiders linebacker. Reiner won the 186 episodes on CBS – as “ Meathead.” (Producer Norman Lear was called the same by a father uncomfortably close to Bunker).
