  4. Vince Edwards, Ben Casey, TV, 1961-1966.     Forget Westerns, suddenly, medics were all the TV rage. Led by Richard Chamberlain’s pretty-boy Dr Kidare and Edwards as the grittier Casey. Jack Lord (later winning Hawaii Five-0), Russell Johnson (The Professor on Gilligan’s Island) and future Oscar-winner Cliff Robertson all passed.
