Max Terhune

  1. Raymond Hatton, Wyoming Outlaw, 1939  When The Three Mesquiteers took on a crooked political boss,  the ventriloquist  Terhune (and his dummy Elmer) left the serials  – and Hatton took over as Joslin.  The baccy-chewing Rusty, that is,  not Lullaby Joslin. But what’s in an name… After  all, Hatton was also Marshall Sandy Hopkins for 29 outings ofThe Rough Riders… among his 471 movies between 1909-1967.   Most B-cowhands used to say they were (like jockeys) merely “scufflin’ for groceries.”
