1. – Joy Shelton, A Case for PC 49, 1951. For some odd reason (money, what else?), Hammer Films bypassed the stars of the famous BBC radio series about a toff copper, Police Constable Archibald Berkeley-Willoughby, and his girl, Joan Carr. Both Joy and Brian Reece were back on he beat for this second (and last) film version.
2. – Maggie Jones, Coronation Street, TV, 1974. Cutts was Blanche Hunt in Britain’s legendary soap-opera for two episodes. The actress committed suicide on September 6, 1974, and was substituted by Jones… for the next 550 chapers until her own death in 2009.
