- Richard Wyler, Little Women, 1948. Friend was set as John Brooke in 1946 before producer David O Selznick and his wife, Jennifer Jones, were greatly fatigued, physically and emotionally, from making Duel in the Sun and sold the project to MGM. Wyler was then billed as Richard Stapley.
- Van Johnson, The Plymouth Adventure, 1951. The Sussex-born actor won 53 credits over 40 years. Unfortunately, not 54 as far as MGM director Clarence Brown was concerned. He later agreed that Johnson was a huge mistake as carpenter John Alden.
