Richard Boyle

1. – James Woods, Salvador, 1985. For his first important movie, writer-director Oliver Stone toyed with the notion of having war reporter Richard Boyle playing himself. Ron Kovic first introduced them when Stone was writing Born on the Fourth of July. “He has a breath of fresh air for me. I did a test – hilarious because Richard’s face would turn different colour every day. He’d been drinking a bit and he’d be green one minute and blue the next and red and orange the next…  Wouldn’t have worked.”
