Robin Ray

  1. Andrew Ray, The Mudlark, 1950. British radio comic Ted Ray took his lads to meet the Fox casting director (and fellow BBC radio star) Ben Lyon. He considered Robin too tall for the kid’s role and gave it to Andrew, aged ten. He won 36 more screen roles, starred in A Taste Of Honey on Broadway   and was renowned for portraying George VI and his brother, The Duke of Windsor.    Robin made five films, 1959-64, and then became a BBC radio expert on classical music.
