Romolo Valli

  1. Peppino De Filippo, Boccacio ’70, Italy-France, 1961.   Modern Decameron sketches from four Italian maestros – Mario Mionicelli’s was cut, leaving Vittorio De Sica, Federico Fellin, Luchino Visconti.   Le tentazioni del dottor Antonio was Fellini’s first work in color (and the 1/2 of his Fellini 81/2) , with a titular Anita Ekberg and a sudden switch of Dr Antonio Mazzuolofrom Valli to the veteran comic – who had appeared in Fellini’s 1950 debut, Luci del varietà/Variety Lights.  Unfortunately, he proved as overly serious as (the angry) Valli had been.
