Adam Baldwin

  1. Tim Daly, Superman: The Animated Series, TV, 1996-2000.  Adam, not a member of what could be called The Immediate Family, proved unavailable and so Daly voiced Clark Kent/Superman for four years, Baldwin got there in the end, playing Supie  in the  2007 Superman: Doomsday video.
  2. Robert Patrick, The X-Files. 2000-2002. Baldwin, Dean Cain (the 1993 TV Superman), Bruce Campbell and Lou Diamond Phillips all auditioned for John Doggett – Dana Scully’s new FBI partner when Fox Mulder went missing. (A money row, what else).  Patrick said the Special Agent could well be his favourite character – but he could not play him in then the tenth season due to his new Scorpion gig, 2014-2018.  He once declared: “I’ve done 55 movies and, in all seriousness, there’s maybe five that are good and the rest are crap.” Not X-Files or the Terminator franchise, which led to him being cast as the fathers of Johnny Cash, Linda Lovelace  and Elvis Presley in their biopix.

  3. Robert Joy, Alien vs Predator: Requiem (AVP – R), 2007.    Change of Colonel Stevens in the last of the absolutely silly – and, naturally, unnecessary – joined-up francise.  Made  by the Strause brothers who are not the freres Russo. Ridley Scott rescused his child (the first Alien in 1978) with Prometheus in 2011.
