Freddie Highmore, The Golden Compass, 2006. Voicing Pantalaimon went from one star of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to another when Highmore was called on to replace Godley’s much older voice. Didn’t help the film succeed where it counts – America. Well, writer-director Chris Weitz foolishly decided to rewrite Tom Stoppard’s scenario. So, no 2008 sequel as had been planned.
