Aamir Khan, Di Chahta Hai, India, 2001. Originally booked as the fun-loving Akash, Khanna was persuaded by co-star Dimple Kapadia to become the most serious of a buddy trio – after Bollywood director Farhan Akhtar lost Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Shiney Ahuja and Aamir Khan for the role.
Malaika Arora, Kaante, India, 2002. Akshaye suddenly quit the film boasting Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan‘s 100th lead role.
