Andre Maranne

  1. Dermot Crowley, Son of the Pink Panther, 1992.  Now here’s  a case for Inspecteur Clouseau… While Wikipedia insisted he was still alive and well  in 2014, Herb Tenney, the doctor (and bit player) for director Blake Edwards, said Maranne died before being able to reprise his role of Clouseau’s sergeant,  François Duval (ex-Chevalier) from three Panther movies. Either way, the Toulouse-born actor spun  himself a highly remunerative career in London – playing Frenchies and other nationals  (any accent means foreigner to Brits) in some 126 screen roles during 1956-1991. Plus TV programmes teaching French…   The Irish Crowley is among the very few actors to make Bond, Luther, MI-5, Pink Panther and Star Wars chapters.  He was also thisclose to being the seventh Doctor Who in 1987.
