Christian Marin

  1. Paul Préboist, Oscar, France, 1967.   After his Paris stage triumph it was obvious that Louis de Funès would film the Claude Magnier play. The stutter, splutter, mutter, nutter comic who ate scenery as if it were ratatouille asked his Gendarme de Saint-Tropez series pal, Marin, to play his butler.  But the cop capers had overloaded his diary. Enter: Préboist, who had impresed “Fufu” in his very personal comedy project the year before: Le Grand Restaurant.  When John Landis directed the US Oscar,  in 1990, the de Funès role was played by… Sylvester Stallone!
