Connie Kreskie

  1. Ewa Aulin, Candy 1969.
  2. Linda Hayden, Baby Love, 1969.   Producer Guido Cohen met Playboy’s  January 1968  Playmate at Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate’s wedding reception at  London’s  Playboy Club in 1968.  Connie then read for Cohen. “He was very, very  sweet, coaching me and everything,” she told me on London. “He thought I’d be pretty good.  No problem with my accent.  Guido wanted to change it to an American family in England. I  got the book, studied  the part but the director  thought I looked too old.  She was supposed to be around 15.” Next time she was at the Playboy Club, she was Playmate of the Year 1969,  Anthony Newley (one of my few idols) saw her in  the lift and  made her his  15-year-old  sprite, Mercy, in his 8½:  Can Heironymus Merkin Ever Forget Mercy Humppe and Find True Happiness?  – correctly hailed by Roger Ebert in the Chicago Sun-Times as “strange, wonderful, original, and not quite successful… the first attempt in English to make the sort of personal film Fellini and Godard have been experimenting with.”
