David Hess

1. – Ken Medlock, Chaos, 2005. Because it was a re-tread of The Last House on the Left, 1972; itself based on Bergman’s The Virgin Spring, 1960),  David DeFalco found a role for the original’s Krug and he suggested a pal, Sage Stallone, for Swan.  Then, suddenly, it was no longer a re-mould, Hess was dumped and Sly Stallone’ son  forced to stay. Which had him yelling: “What’s the point of this shit anyway?” Roger Ebert demolished it as “a film that transcends all barriers of decency… ugly, nihilistic, and cruel… . The movie denies not only the value of life, but the possibility of hope.”
