Deborah Makepeace

  1. Fiona Fullerton, Nicholas and Alexandra, 1970.   Twenty-three young Brits (including  two becoming real-life lovers of two different Doctor Whos!) were seen for the four daughters of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia in this, alas, ponderous account of their tragic lives. Five of them – Cole, Fullerton,  Karen Dotrice (yes, the litte girl in Mary Poppins), Lesley Dunlop and Deborah Makepeace.- were tested for the Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna, youngest daughter and (maybe) sole survivor of the royal family’s assassination in 1918. (Deborah re-made Shirley Temple’s A Little Princess for TV in 1973).
