Dolores Michaels

  1. Joan O’Brien, Operation Petticoat,1959.    The closest the Kansas Cty blonde got to playing the Navy Lieutenant Crandall aboard Cary Grant’s submarine was that she was also called Dolores…!  Tina  Louise and Joan O’Brien   were also in the frame  to serve in the US Navy submarine with Cary Grant and Tony Curtis. O’Brien was perfect, particularly in  the great scene where Nurse Crandall accidentally drops her cigarette into Grant’s coffee and he says, as only Cary Grant could: “Dat’s all right.  I always like a cigarette with my cawfee.”
  2. Elizabeth Taylor, Cleopatra, 1963.
