Don Taylor

  1. Jack  Carson,  Red Garters, 1954.     Seemed like a novel (cheap!) idea…  A  Western musical with stylised stage sets. The ingenue was dropped, the director switched, Don’s footage junked and Jack replaced him –  as much out of his depth as was (George’s aunt) Rosemary Clooney. Taylor then became, essentially, a TV director – until  striking it rich with Damien: The Omen II, 1978
