  1. HB Warner, Mr Smith Goes To Washington, 1938.       It is said that the movie veteran – 350 movies during 1914-1945 – stepped down as Senate Majority Leader, when Warner became available. After all, you can’t get a better leader than the iconic Christ from CB De Mille’s 1926 silent classic, King of Kings… whose 137th and final film was De Mille’s 1955 re-make of his Ten Commandments. Warner also appeared in Frank Capra’s Mr Deeds Goes To TownSmith is actually the Deeds, sequel, originally aimed at the same couple: Gary Cooper and Jean Arthur.
