1. – Marcelle Arnold, Dédée d’Anvers, France, 1947. The first  film of Henri La Barthe’s novel  was planned in 1939 by realisateur Pierre Chenal.  He chose Florence  – his Czech-born discovery  at the Sorbonne and his wife over 17 years and eight films   – to play  “La prostituée au perroquet.”  Florence finished  in – and by – Hollywood. She was blacklisted until the truth dawned  that she was not  the Russian nightclub chanteuse Anna Marly!
