France Rumilly

  1. Mireille Darc, Pouic-Pouic, France, 1963.    For the first  feature film of the future Gendarme de Saint-Tropez team,  stutter, splutter, mutter, nutter comic Louis de Funès wanted Romilly as his daughter while auteur Jean Girault backed Darc. After a single meet, de Funès agreed to Darc.  Then, both men  agreed that  Rumilly (who debuted in their Les Veinards sketch, Gros Lot, in 1962) should be the nun among the Gendarmes, going from Sister to Mother Superior over the six-film, 18 year franchise.
