Frank Middlemass

  1. Colin Douglas, Doctor Who #92: The Horror of Fang Rock, TV, 1977.        Although short-listed for Reuben, Middlemass never entered the Whoverse. Instead, he made radio history as the fourth and final Dan Archer, the patriarch of The Archers, the world’s longest running soap – on BBC Radio since New Year’s Day 1951, and still on-air today, more than 18,250 daily episodes later. Two other Archers players have since turned Whovian – Felicity Jones (the first Emma Grundy) and Terry Molloy (Mike Tucker).
