Gloria Trevi

1. – Angela Lanza, The Perez Family, 1995.  It almost was not Angela’s debut as the backers of Indian director Mira Nair wanted the publicity value of a Latino singing star like Trevi, Gloria Estefan or  Celia Noel. Nair saw them and still gave director Robert Rodriguez’s sister  her screen debut.

2. – Salma Hayek, Desperado, 1995.  “The Mexican Madonna” is a musical, political and cultural phenomenon – but still without  an English-speaking movie.
