Gordon Harris

  1. Windsor Davies, Murder Most Foul, 1963.      Harris  had been Sergeant Bacon in both the first and this penultimate film in the four Agatha Christie whodunits with Margaret Rutherford over-egging the cake as as Miss Jane Marple.   (Like the previous Murder At The Gallop, this was adapted from a Hercule Poirot novel, not a  Miss Marple novel).  Davies was Sergent Reene in another Christie movie, Endless Night, 1971.   He was nearly always a TV cop – Dixon of Dock Green, Z Cars, Softly, Softly – until becoming a biggish TV star iun the farcical series, It Ain’t Half Hot Mum.1974-1981.
