Hobart Cavanaugh

  1. Berton Churchill, Dames, 1933.   Change of Harold Ellworthy Todd in one of those lovable  Busby Berkley-Dick Powell-Warner musicals. Cavanaugh  or Churchill (no kin) were among the busiest character  guys in Film City.  In some 190 movies (24 in 1935 alone !), Cavanaugh was the fretful face of bank tellers, clerks, mailmen, shopkeepers, undertakers… while during his 131 roles, the Canadian Churchill knocked off  astonishing 31 films in 1932 and a further  26 in 1934.  Those were the days.
