Neil Young

  1. Brad Dourif,  London Kills Me, 1991.     After suggesting Bob Dylan, the US backers of scenarist and debuting director Hanif Kureishi offered Young.  "They thought the only way anyone was going to see this film would  be if you got a star playing this fucking part. A nightmare!"  Kureishi's first scenario was My Beautiful Laundrette, 1985.  He has never directed again.
  2. Peter Frampton, The Simpsons #152: Homerpalooza, TGV, 1996. Since its 1989 birth, the yellowtoon family Simpson smashed records for episodes, audiences, and the most guest stars (as themselves or others). From Buzz Aldrin, Glenn Close (Homer’s Mom), Dennis Franz (Evil Homer!), George Harrison, Stephen Hawking, Dustin Hoffman, Bob Hope, Eric Idle to Paul and Linda McCartney, Conan O’Brien (a Simpsonswriter made good), Michelle Pfeiffer, Mickey Rooney, Ringo Starr, Meryl Streep plus Barry (and Betty) White! Not all celebs played ball. Young would not help send up Chicago’s Lollapalooza  music fest. Frampton did.  (Well, he was the younger generation).
