Stephen King

  1. Joe Bruno, Monkeybone, 2000.      The best-selling author had to back outon the day of his cameo.  Lookalike Bruno was rushed in.   He called  himself Steve King - the credits said: Man in Dungeon.
  2. Brian Libby, The Mist, 2006.    For his third  adaptation of a Steven King book, director Frank Darabont could not  talk the author into a  role. But then, they both knew this was no Shawshank Redemption, 1993, or Green Mile, 1998.  King said he was actually and  genuinely frightened by what Chicago critic Roger Ebert called “a competently made Horrible Things Pouncing on People Movie.”
