  1. Jill Haworth, Exodus, 1960.     The young  Broadway actress was beaten by a UK unknown for Karen Hansen in the film of  Leon Uris’s book on the founding of Israel.  (A Jewish Western, said the New York Post!) Usually, Otto Preminger’s discoveries did fairly well. Excepting her Broadway stint as Sally Bowles in Cabaret,  Haworth never achieved star status like, say Tom Tyron or Otto’s Saint Joan, Jean Seberg.   Not after being stuck in Summer Holiday, 1962, with the UK Presly, Cliff Richard. After nine credits, mainly TV, it was game over,  a two year marriage to Jon Voight and co-founding (with drama coach Sanford Meisner,) the Meisner Extention at NYU as  artistic director and acting teacher.
