Jack Haig

1. – Clive Dunn, Dad’s Army, TV, 1968-77. Haig turned down Corporal Jones, and saw it turn Dunn into a TV star  (with a novelty  pop hit, too) and simply turned up as a gardener   in two  episodes  of the  WWII sitcom –  still being BBC re-run 30 year later. Realising his error, Haig jumped at  ’Allo, ’Allo, another nostalgic WWII farce, 1982-89,  from a Dad writer, David Croft.
