1. – Humphrey Bogart, The Petrified Forest, 1936. The WB Studio chief Jack Warner had guaranteed  the role of Duke Mantee to La Rue.  Except, after starring together in the Broadway play, Leslie Howard told him: No Bogart – no Howard!  Bogie became a huge star (bigger  than  Howard) – and  named his 1952 daughter: Leslie.
