Jamie Foxx, Annie, 2014. The 2011 plan was Will Smith producing the third screen version of the Broadway musical (based on Harold Gray’s comic-strip lasting an incredible 88 years – 1924-2010!), with his daughter, Willow, then 11, and his co-producer (and fellow rapper) Jay Z, as Will Stacks… the new name for Daddy Warbucks. Due ty production delays, Willow became too old (replaced by the astonishing Quvenzhané Wallis) and, well, Foxx had something Z didn’t have. A Best Actor Oscar. Nolo contendere.
