Jerry Vale

  1. James Darren, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, TV, 1998-99.  The novel  idea – a saloon singer in outer space, a hologram  at that – was created for Frank Sinatra Jr. (Young Blue Eyes preferred to be an alien!)  So, Vic Fontaine was up for grabs among Robert Goulet, Tom Jones, Steve Lawrence –  and Vale, a long-time favourite of the Steve Allen and Johnny Carson talk shows. In his 60s, Vale  appeared as himself in Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas and Casino. Darren was a close friend of  the  Sinatra clan.
